On Monday June 28th we are holding our annual General Membership Meeting at the Wade Building , Bridgewater Board of Education, 836 Newmans Lane at 7:00pm
The main business of the meeting is for the members to elect the five officers of BSA for the upcoming 2010/11 year
A membership organization remains strong with the active involvement of all its members, and your vote counts!
We encourage everyone to attend this meeting, and we strongly encourage you to consider running for any of the 13 Board positions. For over 30 years BSA has been run by volunteers who wish to give back to the community in which they live. Please consider donating some your time and serve as a Board member.
There are five officers elected by the members, seven board positions that are appointed by the newly-elected Board and one by the team coaches.
Except for President and Technical Director, all members are eligible to run for any Board position. For the President position, the candidate must have been active in BSA as a director, coach, or committee member for at least the 3 years prior to election, and to be Technical Director the candidate must hold at least a USSF “F“training license and have 5 years of coaching experience.
The five officers that are elected by the general membership are President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
There are also seven other board positions that will be appointed by the newly-elected officers.
These are League Contact, Administrative Advisor, Registrar, Technical Director, Web Master, Social Chairperson and Fund-raising Chairperson
The remaining position of Team Representative is elected by the team coaches

A description of the duties of each position and the current incumbent follow:
OFFICERS ELECTED BY MEMBERS
1. President
The President is the executive officer of the club whose responsibility is to carry out the directives of the Board of Directors. In so doing, the President shall have the authority to execute contracts and other agreements on behalf of the club. The President shall chair the meetings of the Board of Directors.
2&3. First and Second Vice Presidents
The primary responsibilities of the Vice Presidents are, first, to ensure that all committees carry out their stated responsibilities and, second, to serve the
President in all matters as requested. At the request of the President, or in the event of his absence or disability, the 1st Vice President shall assume all responsibilities and powers of
the President. The 2nd Vice President shall be the officer responsible for implementing decisions relating to team equipment and uniforms.
4. Secretary
The Secretary shall have charge of all formal documents and records relating to the affairs of the corporation. He/she shall attend and keep the minutes of all
meetings of the Association.
5. Treasurer
The Treasurer shall keep books for the purpose of keeping complete and accurate records of all receipts, disbursements, assets and liabilities of the Corporation, and shall exhibit such books at all reasonable times to any Director on request.
APPOINTED BOARD POSITIONS
There are 7 other board positions that are appointed by the elected officers:
6.League Contact
The League Contact shall serve as the principal contact point between BSA teams and the leagues in which they compete
7. Administrative Adviser
The Administrative Advisor shall serve as advisor to the President and Board of Directors on matters relating to the
administration of BSA and act as the official guardian of the By-Laws
8. Registrar
The Registrar shall maintain an up-to- date list of the members of BSA, shall be responsible for the registration of all players
with their respective teams each season.
9. Technical Director
The Technical Director shall be responsible for organizing and administering an extensive training program for coaches, players, and
referees.
10. Web Master
The Publicity Committee shall be responsible for publicizing all the activities and accomplishments of BSA
11. Social Chairperson
This committee shall arrange and conduct social events to encourage social interaction and a feeling of community among members
12. Fund-raiding Chairperson
This Committee is charged with raising the funds required by the BSA to conduct its activities
