BSA Comets win the Cup at Parsippany Tournament!

The Comets, BSA’s U14 girls team won the Gold Cup at last weekend’s Parsippany tournament.
On Saturday they won their matches against Rockaway (3-2) and Shooting Stars (3-1) and beat Hanover (4-0) on Sunday to qualify for the final on Sunday evening.
They faced a strong opponent in Parsippany Mustangs who had also won all three of their qualifying games. Playing on turf under the lights the Comets scored in the first half and had most of the possession but Parsippany somehow managed to score to level the score in the second half. Sarah B made an incredible save to keep it even and send the game into extra time. The Comets “scored” in the final minute of extra time but the goal was disallowed due to a foul on the goalkeeper.
Now the Comets had to organize themselves for their first-ever PK shoot out. The girls decided who should take the kicks and in what order. After 5 kicks each the score was 3-3
Sarah saved the 6th kick and Emily S calmly netted her shot to win the game and the Cup.
Congratulations to all Comets!
